Overview

A growing construction company is seeking an AP/AR Accounting Specialist to support both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting billing processes, and ensuring compliance with construction-specific requirements such as lien waivers and vendor documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume accounts payable including invoice entry, coding, and vendor payments
  • Manage accounts receivable functions including invoicing, cash applications, and collections follow-up
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and reporting, including vendor setup and maintenance
  • Support billing processes, including progress billing and documentation as needed
  • Perform vendor data entry and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in AP/AR, accounting, or related role (construction industry experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with lien waivers, subcontractor documentation, and 1099 reporting
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
